DroneShield develops technology to prevent drones from conducting illicit surveillance on sensitive sites, a capability becoming increasingly important in today’s environment of heightened geopolitical tensions. DroneShield estimates that the addressable market for its counterdrone product is US$6bn. The company generated $5.6m in revenue in calendar 2020, up 58%, and in the six months to June 2021 revenue amounted to $6.7m, up 87%. Droneshield is rapidly moving towards breakeven, with the June 2021 loss only $0.45m. There was $14m in cash as at June 2021 and a $190m sales pipeline out to the end of 2022. The company has established relationships with global defence clients and continues to gain the security clearances needed for further business growth.
