We spoke with John Prineas, Executive Chairman of St George Mining (ASX:SGQ), about the strong progress the company has made with its Araxa Rare Earths and Niobium project in Minas Gerais state of Brazil.

The rare earths aspect is growing in importance with exploration success suggesting a strong increase in the size of the deposit. Metallurgical testwork is underway to produce a processing flowsheet and there is potential to re-start an existing pilot plant at Araxa to produce sample products. All this in an environment where rare earths are very much in favour globally thanks to their importance to the Trump administration in the US.
