What the federal election means for stocks

Stuart Roberts from Stocks Down Under shares his views on the upcoming federal election and its impact on the market. He sees a coalition majority as beneficial for Australian equities, especially resources, property and energy sectors.

Stuart highlights the potential for companies like Mineral Resources (ASX:MIN) and Woodside (ASX:WDS) to perform well post-election. He compares Mineral Resources’ haul road issues to Qantas’ past challenges, suggesting it’s a temporary setback. Long-term prospects look positive.

Stuart remains optimistic about Paladin (ASX:PDN), noting stability in uranium prices and potential growth in nuclear energy. He’s cautious about consumer and travel stocks, foreseeing a shift towards investment-driven economic growth.
