Your invitation to the Freelancer Investor Day
Freelancer (ASX: FLN) is a Sydney-based company that has been the subject of issuer-sponsored research from Pitt Street Research in 2023 and 2024. The current share price is well below the valuation range suggested in that research (see pittstreetresearch.com/freelancer), we think largely because of the bear market for tech stocks that started in late 2021 and seems to be coming to an end in 2024.
Freelancer is holding an Investor Day on Tuesday 6 August 2024 in which Stuart Roberts from Pitt Street Research will be participating and to which you are cordially invited. This multi-speaker morning session will include presentations from various Freelancer executives and will be an opportunity to learn more about Freelancer’s various business units, the current favourable business environment, and Freelancer’s strategy for growth.
The Investor Day will begin at 9.30 am (AEDT) on Tuesday 6 August 2024 and is expected to conclude around 12.30 pm (AEDT). Investors can attend either in person, or virtually. To register for the event, either in person or virtually, and receive further details, please use the following link:

The investor day is a rare opportunity to meet the talent that has made Freelancer.com the world’s largest freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplace, and which has established Escrow.com as the world’s leading online escrow service provider, and Loadshift as a model online marketplace for heavy haulage services. Presenting will be:
- Matt Barrie, CEO of Freelancer, who founded the company in 2009 and who has overseen its growth to A$53m in FY23 total group revenue.
- Adam Byrnes, Vice President of Product at Growth at Freelancer, who has spearheaded Freelancer’s efforts to expand across the world, particularly into markets that are dominated by non-English native speakers, such as Asia and Latin-America.
- Shaun McMeeken, Global Sales Director at Freelancer, who previously led the ANZ Executive Board at Groupon which grew sales from zero to $250m, and who now oversees efforts to grow Freelancer in the lucrative Enterprise space.
- August Piao, Senior Product Manager at Escrow.com, a talented software engineer whose mandate at Escrow.com is to grow its capabilities globally.
- Cohen Wisniewski, Product Manager at Loadshift, whose experience managing and training teams, as well as implementing effective processes and documentation, has helped bring Loadshift close to breakeven in a relatively short period of time.
In our view Freelancer is a classic case of a strongly differentiated business model that is executing well and is now enjoying strong growth, even if the market has yet to recognise that. We look forward to seeing you at the 6 August investor day.
Regards
Stuart Roberts
