Introduction to Unith (ASX:UNT)

Unith is an ASX-listed technology company that is responsible for the Talking Heads platform. Talking Heads are digital avatars that can have one-on-one Facetime-like conversations with customers through human-like digital avatars in real time to answer queries, take payments and showcase products.

Compared to text-only chatbots, they provide a better experience for customers and are therefore more likely to convert and/or maintain customers.

Unith's History

Unith was formerly known as Crowd Media and offered subscription-based content products. It was founded in 2009 and listed on the ASX in 2015 after a reverse takeover of digital marketing company Q Ltd.

The company launched Talking Heads in 2022 off the back of all the years' experience it had gained in AI. Within months of launching, the company had secured several clients including one anonymous Big 5 Tech company (i.e. one of Apple, Amazon, Meta, Google and Netflix).

Unith's Future Outlook

Unith faces a positive outlook in light of the rise of AI and having a commercial product that has limited competition. The challenge for the company as a listed stock (and a not yet profitable tech company) will be managing investor sentiment and getting the bottom line into positive territory.

Is Unith (ASX:UNT) a Good Stock to Buy?

Unith represents an intriguing investment prospect in digital technology. The problem is that its share price has followed investor sentiment around AI generally, rather than because of individual achievements the company has made. This, combined with the fact that it is not profitable, makes it a more risky stock and one that investors should approach with caution.
